AI Product Scraper
CrawlHawk's AI Product Scraper extracts structured product data from any e-commerce page using an AI model — without manual XPath rules, per-site recipes, or template setup. Submit a product URL, category, or domain, and receive titles, descriptions, prices, variants, image galleries, SKUs, and other attributes in XLSX, JSON, or CSV format.
What Makes It "AI" — and Why That Matters
Traditional product scrapers require per-site configuration: you define XPath or CSS selectors for the product title, price, image, and so on, and the scraper extracts those exact elements. This works until the site changes its HTML — then your scraper breaks. CrawlHawk's AI Product Scraper uses a language model that reads the page like a human would, identifying product attributes regardless of underlying HTML structure. The same scraper works across Shopify stores, WooCommerce shops, custom-built sites, and large marketplaces — no per-site setup.
What Data Is Extracted
The AI Product Scraper identifies and structures the following product attributes when present on the page: product title, full description (preserving formatting), price (including currency and any sale price), SKU or product identifier, brand, variant data (sizes, colors, configurations), image gallery URLs, dimensions, weight, materials, specifications, and stock status. Output is delivered as a row per product with each attribute as a separate column.
Output Formats
XLSX for direct spreadsheet review and editing. JSON for programmatic processing or API import. CSV for legacy import tools. The structure is consistent regardless of source site — every product is a row with the same attribute columns, making bulk import into Shopify, WooCommerce, ERP systems, or product information management (PIM) tools straightforward.
Common Use Cases
E-commerce migration — moving product catalogs from one platform to another. Supplier import — pulling product data from manufacturer or wholesaler sites for resale. Competitor monitoring — tracking competitor pricing, range, and product detail at scale. Affiliate content creation — gathering product data for review sites or comparison pages. Market research — building product datasets for analysis. PIM enrichment — filling gaps in existing product databases.
Limitations and Honest Caveats
AI extraction is not infallible. Page structures with dynamic loading, anti-bot protections, login walls, or unusually unstructured content may produce partial or incomplete results. The AI may misclassify attributes on rare layouts (a 'shipping weight' field interpreted as 'product weight'). For mission-critical pricing or compliance data, manual verification of extracted output is recommended. CrawlHawk credits consumed on failed or partial extractions remain consumed.
JavaScript-Rendered Product Pages
Many large marketplaces and modern e-commerce platforms render product details client-side via JavaScript. The AI Product Scraper can be combined with JavaScript rendering so dynamically loaded prices, variants, and images are captured correctly. JavaScript rendering uses additional credits per URL — exact amounts are shown before crawl start.
How Credits Are Used
AI Product Scraper extractions consume more credits per URL than basic link crawling, because AI processing is the costliest part of the pipeline. Exact credit cost is shown before crawl start. Credits never expire, so you can run AI extractions sporadically over months on the same credit pack. See the Pricing page for current rates.
Privacy and Data Handling
AI extraction sends the relevant page content to OpenAI as a processor. OpenAI does not, by default, use API content to train models — and CrawlHawk does not opt in to training data sharing. See the Privacy Policy for full data flow details.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which e-commerce platforms does it work with?
Any HTML-based product page. The AI doesn't depend on platform-specific markup, so it works with Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce, custom-built shops, and most large marketplaces. JavaScript-heavy product pages may require advanced rendering, available at an additional credit cost per URL.
Can I import the output directly into Shopify?
The XLSX or CSV output is structured for direct import into Shopify's Product CSV format with light column mapping in some cases. For other platforms, the same data structure is usable with minor reformatting.
Does it extract variants (sizes, colors)?
Yes — when variant data is present on the page, each variant is extracted with its specific attributes (size, color, price, SKU). Variants are returned as separate rows linked by parent product ID.
What if a price changes after I extracted it?
The data reflects what was on the page at the moment of crawl. For up-to-date pricing, re-run the extraction — or set up a scheduled crawl to re-extract at a chosen interval for ongoing competitor monitoring.
Can it bypass login walls or paywalls?
No. The AI Product Scraper crawls publicly accessible pages. Bypassing login walls or paywalls would require authorization from the site operator and is governed by the Acceptable Use Policy.
Is this safe to use for competitor monitoring?
Crawling public product pages for competitive intelligence is a long-established legitimate use case. However, you remain responsible for compliance with target sites' terms of service. See the Acceptable Use Policy for the rules and warranties that apply.
